A qualified candidate for support coordinator will have no less than a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or a closely related field and a minimum of one year of experience working with persons who have a developmental or intellectual disability.
Support Coordination is a very rewarding field, but it is also very demanding. Support Coordinators must have a strong work ethic and personal integrity. This is a home based position so excellent time management skills are a must. The hours are flexible, but this is a full time position and may require some evening and weekend work. All visits, ISPs and communications with individuals, providers and family members are recorded in the state run, web based system so each coordinator must have a computer with internet access. Ensuring the health and safety of the individuals CCS supports is primarily the responsibility of the SC and requires face to face contact on a regular basis, so reliable transportation is essential.
The salary for a support coordinator is $44,000 per year. After successfully completing 30 days of employment, CCS provides health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ga. at no cost to the employee. We also offer a higher level of coverage and/or child and family coverage also through BCBS. Dental coverage is also offered through BCBS of Ga. Creative also provides the employee with a life insurance policy with a benefit amount equal to the employee's annual salary. The life insurance policy as well as long and short term disability coverage are through Lincoln Benefit Life at no cost to the employee. CCS employees also become eligible to participate in a 401k program after one year of employment.
Creative Consulting Services believes in continuous staff development and provides ongoing training to support its staff in the field. A successful candidate must be able to attend all trainings and meetings, sometimes on short notice.
CCS does not pay for mileage. We also do not cover cell phones, but do provide voicemail. All SCs must have the means to return calls within one business day.
As stated earlier, this is a very demanding position and any SC that has or seeks additional employment or wishes to continue their education must have approval from the HR department.
